The engine compartment, Carbon Fiber interior superstructure, interior liner and forward bulkhead are all bonded into the hull while the hull is still in its mold. This maintains the hull's shape prior to removal from the hull mold. Moreover, Columbia Yachts is the only boatbuilder to use a truly one-piece interior liner, which spans from the transom to the forward watertight collision bulkhead. Integration of these primary structures makes for an extremely stiff and sound hull.

The deck's molded nonskid means sure footing in wet conditions. Custom stainless steel pulpits and stanchions are standard on the Columbia 30, so that you, your crew and your family are safer on open water. A watertight crashbox forward of the v-berth is filled with closed-cell foam – because when offshore sailing (or even just knocking around the bay) peace of mind should be just part of the package.
Like all of our primary laminates, we build our carbon-fiber keels in-house, so that we can control even the smallest element of construction on this sophisticated part.
You will find service loops in our electrical and plumbing lines, allowing you to remove/service components quickly and easily. Electrical raceways are bonded to the underside of the liner throughout the interior for the same reason. Battery boxes are integrated to the interior liner, providing a clean, secure and easily accessed installation.
Columbia Yachts implements some of the most advanced construction techniques available, and our skilled technicians are some of the most experienced in the business. Some employees have been in the industry for over 30 years…and two of them had their first jobs at Columbia Yachts back in the 60's. Our boats are built to be the best in the business. We strive for continuous improvement, so that your Columbia 30 will be the best there is. |
